CM throws surprise to veteran actors

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa played a perfect host to a group of veteran artistes, who were her colleagues and friends when she was an actress, at her Poes Garden bungalow in Chennai on Thursday. Actresses Anjali Devi, Sowcar Janaki, Saroja Devi, Rajashree, Jamuna, Sukumari and Sachu, actor-dramatist-journalist Cho Ramaswamy and veteran playback singer P Suseela attended the luncheon meet hosted by the CM "It was a memorable day for all of us. The Chief Minister has a graphic memory and recalled every incident of those days," said a happy Sachu. "The Chief Minister was very happy to see us. So were we. A grand variety of delicious vegetarian food. The meeting went on for nearly 90 minutes," said P Suseela.

Looks like it's photo-shoot time for Trisha, who is currently acting in three Tamil films. ('Samar' with Vishal, 'Endrendrum Punnagai' with Jiiva and 'Boologam' with 'Jayam' Ravi). Days after she stood in front of the still camera with Tollywood actor and close pal Rana Daggubati for the cover-shoot of a film magazine, the actress has now shared the lens space with two popular yesteryear heroines.

Trisha shot with legendary actress Saroja Devi and Kushboo, and the 'Mankatha' girl is excited about it. "Did a fun foto shoot with Saroja Devi mam n Khushboo..I am truly honoured n humbled tday 2 hv shot wit legends :):)Happiness!!God is good:)," she tweeted. Meanwhile, the shooting for 'Samar' is nearing completion and Trisha is now gearing up to focus her attention on 'Endrendrum Punnagai' and 'Boologam'.

Fetna has in process from last 30 years in North America, this year's festival runs in conjunction with the Washington Regional Association of Tamil. The Festival will happen at Joseph Meyaraph Symphony Hall in Baltimore city will take place about two days. Literary quiz, debates, interviews, contests with S. Rao, online wedding information exchange, yoga, medical education, businessmen meeting like number of events taking place in the event.

Dr. Saroja Devi Award for Geethapriya

Director and lyricist Geethapriya alias Lakshman Rao Mohite was awarded the Dr B Saroja Devi National Award for 2012, here on Saturday. The award also carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

His debut film, the 1968 Rajkumar starrer Mannina Maga, won a National award; he has directed around 30 films and has won the Puttanna Kanagal Award. Actress Dr Saroja Devi, who presented the award to Geethapriya, said, “I am immensely pleased to present the award as it brings back old memories. I wonder if films like Mannina Maga will be ever made again. I wonder why such films are not being made anymore.
